Product Introduction
ZN63A(VS1) Series High Voltage Eaton Arc Chamber Circuit Breaker
ZN63A(VS1) series indoor high voltage vacuum circuit breaker (hereinafter referred to as circuit breaker) is used for 24kV and 50Hz three-phase AC power system and the rated current is 630A ~ 4000A. This type VCB is widely used in industrial and mining, enterprises, power plants, substations and other power systems, to control and protect cables, overhead lines, changers, generators, capacitor banks, motors, etc. The VCB is matched with the KYN28A-12 type switchgear, and can also be installed in XGN2 fixed switchgear.

The vacuum circuit breaker complies with GB1984, JB3855, DL403-2000 and IEC62271-100 standard with performance reaching C2-E2-M2 class.

Environment service condition
A) Altitude: 1000m and below.
B) Ambient temperature: not higher than + 40℃ , not lower than - 15℃ (storage and transportation at - 30℃ is allowed).
C) Relative humidity: daily average ≤ 95%, monthly average ≤ 90%, daily average of saturated steam pressure ≤ 2.2 × 103Mpa, monthly average≤1.8 × 10-3Mpa. Condensation may occur when the temperature drops sharply in the high humidity period.
D) Seismic intensity: no more than 8 degrees.
E) No water drop, steam, combustible gas, fire, explosion hazard, chemical corrosion and severe vibration.

Product structure
Main structure
The VCB adopts front and rear structure, VIs were installed in front and operating mechanism is rear, the main circuit adopts three-phase earthing structure. This design could make VI matched better to the performance of mechanism, meanwhile reduce the energy consumption and noise, and make the products more reliable.
The operating mechanism adopts the spring type of plane layout, with the function of manual energy storage. The operaying mechanism is placed in the mechanism chamber, which is in front of the VI. The mechanism chamber of the VCB is also used as the operating frame at the same time. The operating mechanism and the chamber can be assembled separately. The energy storage, closing and opening parts of the mechanism are with fewer parts, which is compact, simple and high reliability.

All VCB with different currents are equipped with dust cover before ex-factory. During actual use, the dust cover doesn’t need to be removed if the rated current is under 1250A, but if over 1600A, considering about the cooling problem, the dust cover is required to be removed.
Vacuum arc extinguishing theory
The VI with cyat hiform axial magnetic field is installed in the VCB. The VI is with a high vacuum degree. When the fixed and movable contacts open with charges under the force of operating mechanism, vacuum arc between the contacts will appear. Because the fixed and movable contacts have chutewith the same inclination direction, majority of arc current will be diffused on the circumference of the contacts when the arc current flows and axial magnetic field between the contacts will be formed. So that the arc will maintain diffused and evenly buring in the surface of the contacts, and maintain a lower arc voltage. When the current passed to zero naturally, the residual ions, electrons, and metal vapor can aggregate or composite on the surface of contacts or shielding cover within microseconds. The insulating strength of dielectric across open contact of the VI will quickly restore, and the arc will be extinguished, achieving the purpose of breaking. Due to the use of advanced longitudinal magnetic field technology, this kind of arc extinction has strong and stable current breaking capacity.
Operation of VCB
1. Energy storage operation
1.1. There are 2 types for charging: manual charging and motor charging. Without closing power supply, the manual operation could be chose.Use the manual operation could be chose. Use the manual charging handle of the mechanism to rotate according to the panel instruction. It will drive the gear shaft rotating, and drive the energy storage shaft to move together with the hanging spring connecting lever, so as to stretch the closing spring to complete the energy storage and realize the spring energy storage.
1.2 Under the situation of motor charging, the charging motor will output torque, and the gear shaft is driven to rotate, so as to stretch the closing spring to complete the energy storage. At the same time, the energy storage micro-switch to cut off the power supply of energy storage motor and complete the whole energy storage operation.
2. Closing operation
After the operating mechanism finished charging, when the closing coil is energized or the closing button on the panel is pressed, the closing half shaft is rotated, and the closing energy is released to realize the closing of the VCB.
After closing, closing and opening indication shows closing mark. Note:
A. When the VCB is at closing position or the handcart-typed VCB is moving, the closing operation cannot be realized;
B. If choose the electrical closing latching device with the external power supply (secondary control power supply) unconnected, the closing operation is forbidden.
3. Opening operation
After the closing is completed, receiving the opening signal or pressing the opening button displayed on the right side of the panel to push the opening half shaft to rotate. The half shaft loses the restriction on the opening buckle plate. With the compressed spring of the contact and the opening spring, the opening buckle plate rotates, so that the opening connecting lever on the main shaft is free from the restriction of the opening pallet to complete the opening action. Various interlock function device.
A) Anti-bouncer: after the VCB completes the closing operation, even if the VCB has been opened, it cannot be closed again under the condition that the closing command has not been cancelled.
If the switchgear has adopted the anti-bouncer of microcomputer protection, it is necessary to confirm whether the anti-bouncer needs to be installed.
B) Locking device: prevent the VCB from closing when the secondary control without power supply or lower than the technical conditions requirements (optional device).
The working voltage range of the locking coil is (65% ~ 110%) times the rated voltage.
C) Interlock function to prevent mal-operation.The VCB can provide perfect mal-operating function.
1) After the VCB completes the closing operation, the VCB cannot be closed again without opening.
2) After the VCB closed, if the closing signal is not released, the signal can not make the VCB close again, no matter the VCB is in the closing or opening state.
3) During the process from test position to working position of handcart-typed VCB, the VCB cannot be closed.
4) After the handcart-typed VCB is closed at the test position or working position, the circuit breaker cannot be rolled in or pulled out.
5) When the grounding switch closing, the handcart cannot be roll in (from the test position to work).
Installation and adjustment
Note
A) The installation, adjustment, operation and maintenance of the VCB should be carried out by the personnel specially trained and familiar with the performance of the products, and the corresponding protection and preventive measures must be taken into account in the work.
B) When hoisting circuit breaker from the packing box, hang the hook at the clearly marked hoisting hole of the circuit breaker. During handling, the up and lower outgoing arm should not be stressed and the circuit breaker should not be subject to bigger shock vibration.
Installation
1. The VCB installed in the switchgear should not be subjected to any tension, pressure or deformation, and spring gasket or discgasket should be added at the installation point.
2. When connecting the main terminal, the main terminal should not be subject to permanent tension and pressure.
3. When connecting the busbar, the depth of the bolt placed must be greater than the thread diameter.
4. When installing, bolts with strength of grade 8.8, spring gasket or disc gasket should be used.
5. Remove the filth.
Adjustment
The circuit breaker has been performed the strictly factory test before delivery, all parameters can reach up to specified technical requirements. The following preparation work should be made before applying power to the primary circuit:
1. Check the circuit breaker for damage or other dangerous environmental impact. If there is such a phenomenon, it should be eliminated and restored to normal working conditions.
2. Clean the dirt, especially the surface of insulator, because contamination caused during shipment or storage period will affect insulation performance of the product.
3. Check whether the connection between the primary and secondary circuits and the earth electrode is correct.
4. Carry out power frequency withstand voltage test and check the insulation level.
5. Operate the VCB manually as per operation specification for charing, closing and opening operation, and observe the normality of charging condition and opening/closing position indication.
6. Operate the VCB with operation power for charging, closing and opening, and observe the normality of charging condition and opening/closing position indication.
7. Operate handcart-typed VCB as per following procedures:
Insert the rotation in handle in the push hole of chassis, rotate in clockwise direction is for moving in, and rotate in anticlocwise direction is for drawing out. The moving in total travel is around 200mm. When opening, it should enter the working position or experimental position clockwise.Ratate the handle for the 20 turns in clockwise direction with intermediate speed, when you heart the voice "Da", it means rotate to the end (do not use excessive force to avoid damaging the push-in mechanism). At the same time, connect the corresponding position (S8, S9) circuit.

Note
a) Before maintenance, the VCB should be in the opening and no energy storage state, completely insulated from the primary and control power supply, to ensure that the work site is not electrified.
b) The detergent should be suitable for plastic or synthetic rubber materials. Under normal use conditions, the VCB does not need maintenance, but due to the different use environment, necessary maintenance work still needs to be carried out.
1. The VCB should be maintained at least once a year according to the workload, applying lubricating oil to the movable parts of the mechanism, and cleaning the surface of the insulating parts.
2.if the VCB is placed for a long time, the movable part may be blocked, so that the VCB should be stored energy and opening/closing at least 5 times a year.
3. Insulation test should be carried out for the VCB at least once a year to determine whether the VI leaks air or the insulation strength is reduced due to other external reasons.
4. For frequent operation places, the operation times specified by the technical conditions should be strictly controlled with the allowable range and cannot be used beyond the service life.

Transportation and storage
Transportation
Only the following tools can be used for loading and unloading the packing box: crane, forklift or crane.
VCB should be enclosed and fixed in the package during transportation. Packing, unpacking and storage should be performed in a dry room. During VCB transportation, inversion, rain, shock and collision should be avoided. Once the VCB needs to be transported in a tertiary highway, the average speed cannot higher than 20km/h.
Delivery
The factory assembled circuit breakers have been strictly tested before delivery in accordance with GB1984-2014 standard and factory inspection procedures of circuit breakers to prove the correctness of their mechanisms and functions, and the factory inspection reports are enclosed to the attached documents.
After receiving the VCB, the receiving party should carry out unpacking insection as soon as possible, and try not to damage the packing box and other packing materials when unpacking, so as to facilitate medium-term storage.
Storage
1) Check whether the product model and specification are consistent with the contract.
2) Check whether the goods are complete.
3) Check whether there is any shortage of goods and attached accessories according to the delivery list and packing list.
4) The VCB should be stored in a dry, dust-free and well ventilated storage room, and the storage conditions should comply with the relevant provisions of GB/ T11022.
5) During energy storage, the VCB should be in the opening and no energy storage state.
6) If the original packaging has been removed, it should be repacked according to the original packaging.
7) Regularly check whether there is condensation and damp.
